Repeating Tasks

For those of you familiar with repeating tasks within Asana, you are aware of the limitations. If you consider repeating events on your calendar, you can set these up to occur weekly. As you navigate through different weeks on your calendar, you are able to see each instance of that event.

This would be ideal functionality within Asana as well. However, that is not the case. You only see a single instance of the task in Asana. A subsequent instance is only created when the previous instance is marked as complete.

There is a valid reason for this. Your task list in Asana is something that should show items that are workable. If all repeating tasks exist in your task list, this may overload your task list. However, there is still a problem with calculating bandwidth and evaluating availability. It would be ideal to see those tasks when attempting to schedule a meeting for example.

Our repeating tasks solves this problem by allowing several instances of each task to be created within a rolling window. For example, you can ask our system to create tasks out for the next 30 days. We will then ensure that new tasks are created each day.

To give our solution a try, click here to get it installed. You will then see a new option to setup a repeating schedule on any task, which will pop up the window above.
